Established in 2018, the Board convenes quarterly with MTM’s executive team, offering strategic counsel and direction. Marty Garza
Vice President of Air Operations Technology, Southwest Airlines
Marty Garza spearheads Southwest Airlines’ technology-driven operations, bringing more than two decades of experience in modernizing critical operational systems. Marty started at Southwest in 1998 as part of the technology department’s inaugural college hire program. After many roles, he now leads the modernization of critical operational systems, collaborating closely with Crew Operations, Safety & Security, and Network Operations Control as Vice President of Air Operations Technology. His leadership played a pivotal role in strategic initiatives, including the successful launch of international service and migrating essential systems to the AWS cloud platform. Marty’s leadership style is characterized by a passion for developing talent, inspiring teams, and fostering a culture of efficiency, driving Southwest Airlines’ continuous operational excellence.
Chris Schmaltz
Founder, Enhanced Performance Solutions Group
Chris Schmaltz boasts a more than three-decade career in enhancing operational performance and revenue growth across multiple global organizations. With a focus on leveraging technology solutions and value-based care, Chris brings a wealth of expertise in driving value creation and innovation. His expertise in P&L management, operational enhancement, and revenue growth has driven remarkable value creation at prominent entities like Panoramic Health, Alignment Healthcare, Centene, UnitedHealth Group, AIG, Safeco (now part of Liberty Mutual), and Precision Castparts Corp (now part of Berkshire Hathaway). As the Founder of Enhanced Performance Solutions Group, Chris provides advisory and interim management services to healthcare and private equity clients worldwide. His profound understanding of value-based care, payment integrity, operations strategy, and technological solutions, including AI applications, has been instrumental in delivering tangible consumer value.

Currently serving as Senior Advisor to the CEO at Geisinger Health, Karen’s expertise drives innovative solutions that significantly enhance patient care, access, and quality outcomes. At Geisinger, she previously held multifaceted roles including EVP/Chief Innovation and Digital Transformation Officer, establishing initiatives like the Digital Transformation Office and the award-winning Geisinger AI Lab (GAIL).
