MTM Welcomes Director of Functional Assessments and Travel Training Max Calder
MTM is dedicated to providing high quality management of functional assessment and travel training services, and relies on expert leaders to guide our nationwide mobility management programs. We’re excited to announce that our mobility management team has found a new leader for our operations in the western portion of the country with the hiring of Max Calder as Director of Functional Assessments and Travel Training (West). In this role, Max will oversee our functional assessment and travel training operations in the west, helping our staff ensure paratransit services are utilized appropriately and teach individuals how to ride fixed route buses and trains independently.
Max will ensure our On the Move operations with transit agencies in his region help to achieve our clients’ goals of improving community access, increasing fixed route utilization, and containing paratransit costs. He brings to MTM nearly 20 years of experience in transit management and planning, as well as expertise in complying with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements. Most recently, he served as the LIFT Eligibility and Community Relations Manager for the TriMet system in Portland, Oregon. In this role, he oversaw all aspects of the LIFT ADA paratransit system, which includes the MTM-operated in-person eligibility assessment program. His broad background in transit allows him to fully understand the needs of the individuals with disabilities MTM serves through our mobility management programs. Max earned his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from San Diego State University.
