What
Let’s See Some Outcomes! Impacting Placement Rates and HCBS Usage Through Caregiver Support
The panel discussion will delve into the widespread issue of caregiver burnout, which affects one in five Americans who are unpaid caregivers. The session will explore the root causes of caregiver burnout and present evidence-based interventions that have proven effective in mitigating these challenges. These interventions, including non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT), play a crucial role in reducing the reliance on HCBS and preventing premature facility placements.
By examining the results of these caregiver support initiatives, the panel aims to demonstrate their positive impact not only on caregivers and care receivers, but also on the HCBS systems that are essential for allowing older adults to age in place.
